We've just shipped a brand-new notification system for GameHub, so you'll never miss a beat across your multiplayer games.
🔔 Notification Banner
A live banner now appears at the top of every page whenever something needs your attention — a new game challenge waiting for your response, or an active game where it's your turn to move. It polls quietly in the background every 30 seconds, so it stays up to date as you browse. Dismiss individual alerts with the × button, or clear them all at once.
👋 Welcome-Back Modal
Been away for a while? If you haven't visited in 30 minutes or more, a pop-up will greet you on your next page load with a summary of everything that's happened — pending invites and games waiting for your move — so you can jump straight back into the action.
📧 Email Notifications
Notifications don't stop when you close the tab. GameHub will now send you an email in two situations:
- Game invite — someone challenges you to Chess or BattleSubs and you're not online to see it.
- Turn reminder — it's your move and your opponent has been waiting for more than 30 minutes. You'll only ever receive one reminder per turn, so no inbox flooding.
Supported Games
Notifications are active for both Chess and BattleSubs, covering every stage of the game: invite sent, invite accepted, and every move in between. More games with multiplayer support will be added in future updates.
